Dennis Y. Teranishi

Mr. Teranishi is President and CEO of Hawaiian Host, Inc., the largest producer and marketer of chocolate covered macadamia nuts in the world. Mr. Teranishi brings to Hoike a wide range of expertise ranging from strategic planning and management to international sales and marketing to acquisitions. Presently, Mr. Teranishi serves as a Board of Director for some of Hawaii's leading organizations and businesses including the Pacific International Center for High Technology Research, Economic Development Alliance of Hawai`i, Island Insurance Companies, Inc., and Hawaiian Host, Inc. He also serves on the Advisory Board for Kamehameha Schools and the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources, University of Hawaii.
Before joining Hawaiian Host, Inc., Mr. Teranishi was a business consultant specializing in business evaluation, re-engineering and organizational development. Prior to business consulting, Mr. Teranishi spent 19 years at AMFAC, ending his tenure at AMFAC as the president of AMFAC Agribusiness, Inc.
Mr. Teranishi received his Masters degree in Soil Chemistry and Plant Nutrition from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and his Bachelor's degree in Crop Science from the California State Polytechnic University. In 1993, he was recognized as an outstanding alumnus of the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources at the University of Hawaii. |
